Jackie Campbell

BVSc(hons) Dip CMT, CHPV 

Jackie is a leading voice in veterinary palliative care and the Director of Sunset Vets, a nationwide network of veterinarians dedicated exclusively to palliative and end-of-life care. After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2006, Jackie initially worked in regional practice before an interest in the management of chronic pain led her head-first down the palliative care rabbit hole In 2016, she became Australia’s first Certified Palliative Care Veterinarian, and she continues to support the work of IAAHPC through her representative role here in Australia. She is the co-founder of the Australian Palliative Care Advisory Council, an initiative harnessing cross-disciplinary expertise to develop and support best end-of-life care practices within veterinary medicine, and is also responsible for the nationally recognised Sunset Grief program. Run in partnership with key university institutions, this platform helps deliver free professional grief counselling to families needing assistance through their grief. This support is available for all veterinarians across Australia to access for their clients.
